5 F1 Racers With The Most Defeats in 2023

1 years ago By Sports Desk

As the ongoing exciting 2023 F1 season slowly nears it’s end. Let’s discuss about the 5 racers with the most wins in 2023.And if you may wonder that why, there are 5 racers on the defeat section contradicting the fact that defeat not only means the losing of a GP race. But it states defeat in the sense of losing points too. As The F1 community actually judges the points system as a win lose criteria. So ,let’s take a look.

1. Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez

On the first place in the list is Max’s Red Bull teamate and partner in crime,’Checo’.This season’s only other driver to claim a victory other than Verstappen, he sits at number 2 on the championship table.Securing two victories at the Abu Dhabi and Azerbaijan GP and picking up points in all the races, Sergio had gained a total of 189 points.Although there is a large difference in his and Max’s points. Most of Max’s victories had come with his assists, as he protected Max from other drivers.By even sacrificing his own accomplishments for the team.

Although he is currently number 2 in the Championship race, but he is no.1 in defeat because of his continuous 2nd place finishes. In the races, he was just behind Max Verstappen, the winner, but did not contested him for a win due to team principles. So,he became the second or more far placed driver in these races.

So, guess what? We can call it a defeat!

2.Daniel Ricciardo, Nyck De Vries and Logan Sergeant

The trio, consisting ofDaniel Ricciardo-The Aussie from McLaren Nyck De Vries- The Dutch new entry for AlphaTauri Logan Sergeant- The American for Williams holds the joint secondposition in this position as they all have not been able to secure any points.

Although it is to notice that Daniel Ricciardo only competed in selected 2 races. But De Vries and Sergeant were regular choices for their teams.Their positions on the Driver’s Championship are are 21,20 and 19 respectively.

3.Kevin Magnussen

The iconic Haas driver was only able to procure 2 points in all the 12 races he started in. His only two points also came, not in the main races, but separate sprint races. He is the number 18 on the Driver’s Championship.

4. Yuki Tsunoda

The young Japanese racing for AlphaTauri, is in the 4 th position. He salvaged only 3 points for himself and his team’s, in all the 12 races. He did this by finishing 10th, 3 times. He stands on the 17 th position in the F1 Driver’s Championship.

5. Zhou Guanyu

On fifth position is the  Chinese driver of  Alpha, with two top 10 finishes in 12 GP’s. He finished as the number 9 in the Australian and Spanish GP’s.
So, now he stands on the 16th position on the Driver’s Championship with 04 points.
