Fans Invited to Join Isle of Man TT Legacy Lap Ride-Out

6 months ago By Sports Desk

Motorcycling enthusiasts are invited to the Legacy TT Tour, one of the most iconic traditions of the Isle of Man TT Festival. Taking place on June 2nd, the annual event promises to bring thousands of fans together for a spectacular crowd lap around the famous TT Mountain Course ahead of the highly anticipated six-lap RST Superbike TT Race.

The Legado TT Tour has been an important part of the TT festival for several years, giving participants the opportunity to celebrate and honour their shared passion for motorcycles and the island’s iconic track. For many, this round represents a moment of remembrance and respect for friends and racers who were part of this vibrant community and are sadly no longer around.

This year’s Legado Tour is also a special tribute to Dave Myers, one of the charismatic faces of the recently deceased Hairy Bikers duo. Several mass walks are being organised in his memory across the UK to raise money for cancer charities.

This year’s tour will start at 09:30 from the TT Pit Lane under the supervision of Gary Thompson, MBE, BEM, TT Track Secretary. The match is preceded by an exciting minute of “Sound of Thunder,”  a sonic feast that promises to delight spectators and participants.

Riders wishing to take part in the 2024 Tour of Legacy TT must register from May 28 to June 1 at the Hailwood Centre behind the grandstand between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. All registrants will receive a commemorative bracelet to commemorate their participation in the special event.

On the day of the event, participants are asked to assemble in Pit Lane at the TT Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road at 8.30 a.m. The event is expected to attract a long and impressive line-up of bikes, creating a unique visual and audio spectacle on the TT route.

The Legado TT Tour plays an important role in preserving the history and culture of the TT while providing a memorable experience for two-wheeled enthusiasts. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of camaraderie and passion that defines the TT Festival and the global motorcycling community.

Organisers hope the 2024 TT Legacy Tour will be big, not just in numbers but in spirit, as fans come together to celebrate the legacy of those who love the thrill and freedom of motorcycling. This annual event remains an important part of the Isle of Man TT Festival, highlighting the importance of remembrance, community, and shared passion for all involved.
