Verstappen Open to Ferrari Move: “Never Say Never” to Hamilton-style Switch

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The world of Formula 1 is full of surprises, and the latest is Max Verstappen, the current Red Bull champion. Lewis Hamilton has announced that he will leave Mercedes and join Ferrari from 2025, so the focus is on Verstappen and his possible move to the Scuderia. .

When asked if he could follow in Hamilton’s footsteps against Ferrari, Verstappen was open-minded. He explained: “I never want to sound disrespectful. I have a lot of respect for the Ferrari brand, but I’m very happy where I am at the moment.”

Despite being happy with Red Bull, Verstappen left the door open to speculation about his F1 future. He emphasized that he has learned in life to never say never. “But it doesn’t even cross my mind right now,” he added.

The sometimes heated rivalry between Verstappen and Hamilton, particularly in the 2021 drivers’ championship dispute, does not appear to have affected the Dutch driver’s opinion on Hamilton’s move to Ferrari. Verstappen supported Hamilton’s decision and admitted that if driving for Ferrari was the Briton’s dream and goal then he should continue.

Sergio Perez, Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, brought an interesting perspective to the conversation. He stressed that the dynamic between Hamilton and Mercedes could become interesting as the exit date approaches. Perez spoke about the challenges of sharing information between teams and the influence of Hamilton, who brought years of Mercedes knowledge to the new challenge.

As Hamilton prepares for a new phase in his Ferrari career, speculation surrounding Verstappen’s future continues to pique the interest of F1 fans. With the 2025 season promising new dynamics and rivalries, the transfer window remains open and Verstappen could follow in Hamilton’s footsteps.

As the dust settles on the latest announcements, attention now turns to the track as teams prepare for the challenges of the 2024 F1 season. The uncertainty surrounding Verstappen’s future makes an already exciting sport even more exciting. It goes without saying that the twists and turns and surprises of Formula 1 are as exciting as the races themselves.
