“Ducati’s Winning Formula Revealed: Technical Director Unveils Advancements Over Marquez’s GP23”

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Ducati Technical Director David Parana revealed the key details of the differences between the GP23 and GP24 engines, highlighting how the GP24 will be more advanced, particularly in terms of power. The news will have a significant impact on next season, especially Marc Marquez, who will not have the same development as his four rivals.

Ducati factory riders Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini, as well as Pramac’s Jorge Martin and Franco Morbidelli, will benefit from the new GP24. Gresini riders, the Marquez brothers, and VR46 riders Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, on the other hand, will have to drive last year’s Desmosedici.

According to Paraná, the biggest difference is “power”. He explained that the GP24 will be more advanced, especially in terms of power, which will make the difference obvious. A further ten kilometers per hour would require dozens of horsepower to reach top speed.

Power not only affects top speed, but is also directly related to aerodynamics. Pallana emphasized the importance of finding a balance, as too much surface area to create downforce can inhibit top speed.

In addition, Ducati is providing an aerodynamic package that will be tested at Sepang. Barana admitted that teams often come in at the last minute due to parts scarcity, but insisted that the difference is noticeable, although it needs to be confirmed at the rider’s level of feeling during testing.

The results shed light on the behind-the-scenes development of MotoGP racing engines, underscoring the ongoing search for technological advancement and performance improvement. With the start of the season, Ducati will be in a better technical position, which can significantly affect track results.
