Hamilton Admires F1 Star Robert Kubica: ‘Best Driver Team Boss Ever Saw’ with One Victory

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton praised Robert Kubica as “one of the most talented drivers he has ever encountered”, despite Kubica only achieving one victory in his F1 career. The Polish pilot competed in 99 races in his F1 career, reaching the podium in 12 of them and achieving an important victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. However, his serious accident in a rally race in 2011 changed the course of his career.

Hamilton attributed his long-term relationship with Kubica to their karting days in 1998. The Briton expressed his admiration for Kubica’s extraordinary talent and emphasized the Pole’s strength and determination to overcome the life-changing incident.

“I’ve known Robert for a long time, we started racing against each other in karting in 1998 – for me Robert is one of the most talented drivers I’ve ever encountered. I saw the talent he had from the start. What really stands out is the strength and determination he showed after the incident,” said Hamilton. .

Kubica’s return to F1 in 2019, following a 2011 rally crash that disrupted his plans to move to Ferrari and effectively ended his F1 career, was regarded globally as a huge success. However, the lack of competitiveness of the Williams team Kubica joined led him to explore other racing opportunities, and Hamilton praised Kubica’s performance in his return to F1.

“It’s not easy to go through those kinds of circumstances and come back into the sport and compete with others who haven’t had the same situation. It was great to have him back. Certainly not as much as when he used to be in a competitive team, but I think he’s done a great job this year,” added Hamilton.

Despite the difficulties Kubica faced and despite not having a long career in F1, Hamilton emphasizes the importance of the Polish driver’s natural talent. Hamilton’s statement reveals not only Kubica’s skills on the track, but also his resilience and determination to overcome challenges. This mutual respect between the two pilots emphasizes friendship and mutual recognition in the competitive world of Formula 1, having shared many struggles on the track.
