Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo shares his thoughts on the recent Red Bull F1 rebrand

9 months ago By Sports Desk

Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo shared his thoughts on Red Bull’s latest brand change ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The team, previously known as AlphaTauri, has now been rebranded as VisaCashApp RB as a result of a new sponsorship deal with Visa.

The news of the new name change caused various reactions on social media; Some fans expressed discomfort with traditional team names being sold to big brands. Even Visa’s vice president admitted that the new name was a bit difficult to pronounce, prompting criticism and laughter from F1 enthusiasts.

Despite the online controversy, Daniel Ricciardo seems fully enthusiastic about the new era starting for the Faenza-based team. Pilot expressed the following excitement in a post on his Instagram page: “New name, new colors, let’s go!”

The team, which was acquired by Red Bull in 2006 and has undergone several name changes over the years, was known as Toro Rosso before being named AlphaTauri in 2019. Now, with Visa’s new headlining sponsorship, they are aiming to rebrand in line with the Red Bull Racing brand.

This name change for the 2024 season occurs in parallel with similar changes in other teams such as Alfa Romeo being named Stake F1. This has caused controversy over the selling off of traditional team identities to major brands and the loss of authenticity in Formula One.

Ricciardo, nicknamed “Honey badger”, is hopeful about the possibility of returning to his previous team Red Bull for the next season, because Sergio Perez’s contract is about to expire.

Despite criticism on social media, Ricciardo remains unconcerned about change and remains focused on the future. “New name, new colors, let’s go!” His positive message reflects the mindset of a determined pilot who wants to challenge the challenges of the track with a new identity and renewed hopes.

As the 2024 season approaches, all eyes will turn to VisaCashApp RB and Daniel Ricciardo; We can’t wait to see how the team performs with their new look and whether they can achieve new successes with the determination that characterizes the Australian driver.
