Yamaha’s Strategic Move: Recruiting Ducati Engineers to Retain Fabio Quartararo
Looks like Yamaha is now recruiting top engineering talents to make Fabio Quartararo stay with them.
Massino Bartolini, the Italian technical director, left his jib Ducati, to become Yamaha’s new technical director, following the footsteps of Marco Nicotra who also left Ducati to become Yamaha’s new head of Aerodynamics.
Seems like Yamaha hopes Bertolini’s expertise can really provide a significant uplift to the team, after an disappointing 2023 MotoGP season. Although it is unclear now whether Bartolini will replace Kazutoshi Seki or work alongside together as the leader of Yamaha’s M1 project from last year.
Bartolini’s addition adds an European mindset to the all Japanese crew of Yamaha. Which is really needed for the team to succeed in the 2024 season.
Also, Yamaha is keeping in mind the fact they need to give Quartararo a good bike for the star driver to stay in their paddock.
Quartararo is already many times mentioned this and expressed his discontent with the team for not providing him with a good enough bike. But patientence can’t really stay for long.
So, Yamaha is putting die hard efforts to improve the elves and make a grand bike that fulfills both Quartararo and their needs. They are also putting effort to pull away from their closeted Japanese mindset and adapt to European standards. As most of the racers in MotoGP are of European background and most of the races are held in Europe.
They are really putting in the efforts, that can be really seen. But how much of this effort will turn into work, that only time will tell.
Until that Yamahahas to keep working hard and let the fruits of hardwork bear the result.
