“Visa Cash App RB F1 Team Unveils 2024 Challenger Name, Formerly AlphaTauri”

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Visa Cash App RB F1 Team (formerly known as AlphaTauri) has announced exciting details of its next challenger for the 2024 season. The car, now called the VCARB02, will impress on the track and mark the team’s latest partnership with the Visa and Cash app.

The team underwent a major rebrand and chose Las Vegas as the stage to officially launch its new visual identity on February 8. However, the VCARB02’s real debut is expected to take place at Misano, Italy, where drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda will have the chance to complete the car’s first laps on February 12.

Under new racing director Laurent Mackis, the team is setting an ambitious vision for the 2024 Formula 1 season. Fleet CEO Peter Baer expressed excitement about the partnership with the Visa and Cash app, emphasizing its importance in supporting fleet travel.

There have also been major changes to the team’s technical team, with the recruitment of experienced talent from well-known teams such as Red Bull and Alpine. Former Alpine sporting director Alan Parman serves as race director, while Guillaume Catalani, who joined from Red Bull, serves as deputy technical director.

To further increase the competition, the team chose to incorporate elements of the Red Bull RB19 car, which had shown dominance in previous seasons. This strategy is designed to improve VCARB02’s performance and make the team more competitive for the 2024 season.

However, the team’s rebranding to visa cash app RB F1 Team has sparked some controversy, with some describing it as “the worst team name in F1 history”. Still, the team believes the strategic partnership with Visa and Cash App will bring significant benefits.

This sponsorship deal marks Visa’s return to the world of sports, adding extra cachet to the team. With the start of the 2024 F1 season, Visa Cash App RB F1 Team is eager to compete at the highest level and looks forward to an exciting and challenging season on track.
