Trackhouse Denies Interest in Signing Jack Miller or Joe Roberts

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The Trackhouse team, recently rebranded and backed by the United States, has provided insight into its rider market negotiations for the next MotoGP season. With Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira’s contracts expiring, the team faces an uncertain lineup for the 2025 season.

Despite growing rumors about the possible signing of Jack Miller or American rider Joe Roberts, team boss Davide Brivio denied any direct interest in these riders. “I get calls from managers. The calls are decreasing day by day,” said Brivio, suggesting that negotiations are progressing with their current riders.

Raul Fernandez is in advanced talks with the team regarding a new contract. Brivio emphasized the importance of retaining Fernandez: “The priority is to talk with both of them. The reality is that we are quite close to Raul. He’s happy to stay, and we are happy with him. We think he has great potential. This journey with him has worked.”

Meanwhile, Miguel Oliveira is also in discussions with the team, although he has other options on the market. Brivio explained: “We are talking to Miguel. He has other options. We have to see where we can find the right balance and make him happy to stay. We are working on that.”

The team’s rebranding this season, making them the first American team in over a decade, has sparked speculation that they might try to bring an American rider into MotoGP. Joe Roberts, currently third in Moto2, emerged as a leading candidate. However, Brivio clarified that, despite interest from several teams in Roberts, he is not the priority for Trackhouse.

“This could be Plan B or Plan C, looking at other riders in case we can’t find a good agreement with Miguel,” said Brivio. “Everybody knows, more or less, the market is quite clear. There is one experienced rider available; otherwise, you have to go for a rookie.”

Rider market negotiations are always complex and dynamic, but Trackhouse seems focused on maintaining stability with its current riders. With Fernandez showing great potential and Oliveira still in discussions, the team is working to ensure they have a competitive lineup for 2025.

The rumors about Jack Miller and Joe Roberts, although interesting, seem to be just that—rumors. Trackhouse is clearly focused on finalizing its agreements with Fernandez and Oliveira, and any decisions about new riders will only be made if the current negotiations fail.

As fans and industry observers eagerly await Trackhouse’s final decisions, one thing is clear: the team is determined to build a solid and competitive lineup, maintaining a balance between experience and promising potential.
