Schumacher’s F1 Return Hope Boosted by Key Alpine Announcement-

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Mick Schumacher, the legendary German F1 driver’s son, had a rough debut season in F1 with Haas in 2021, and that continued to the next season in 2022. Due to his poor and limited performances, his contract was not renewed, as he remained a test and reserve driver for Mercedes. But his hopes of retiring to the F1 grid have really been boosted after a major clause in the contract regarding Mercedes and Alpine.

Alpine has recently presented the will to take someone for Schumacher as a reserve driver for their team due to their binding contract with Mercedes. For Mick Schumacher, who is looking to find a way into the F1 grid, this presents a great opportunity as he can be called anytime soon as a full driver if the need arises.

For that, we have to know he has already secured a contract for the WEC( World Endurance Championship) series with Alpine but retained his position as a reserve driver as well. Now, the clause in his contract is that as he is registered as a reserve driver for Mercedes in F1, Alpine can’t just hold him down to WEC when rather there’s a chance of Mick coming that way to F1.

Although it seems like a tiny ray of hope, for Mick, it’s a huge opportunity. Mick is trying to get back into the F1 grid. Because the world of F1 is really uncertain, nobody can really tell or guess what exactly can happen.Things here change or take drastic turns within the span of a second.

If we see the case of Alphatauri last year, we see that Ditch driver Nyck de Vries was their main driver, but after poor performances, he was replaced by the enigmatic Aussie Daniel Ricciardo, who was then kicked out of the rest of the season with a serious thumb injury, which in turn created an opening for a talented Kiwi driver, Liam Lawson, who was a reserve driver for Red Bulland AlphaTauri and showcased his talents.
