Brazilian legendary Indycar and Indy champion driver Gil De Feran has passed away at the mere age of 56. This left the entire
Born in Paris, France, De Feran started his career in karting in Brazil, where his family moved. It was in the UK that he showcased his true talents by winning the prestigious Formula 3 title for Paul Stuart Racing.

Then the transition of his career shifted to an IndyCar, where he gained immense fame and glamour.

While competing in one of the most tough and competitive eras of IndyCar, he soon became a very popular figure with Team Prnske due to his wonderful driving skills and talents.

Throughout his IndyCar career, he gained 12 victories and 21 pole positions, winning two championships.

The main achievements of his career came in 2003, when he won the legendary Indianapolis 500. It was a legendary race that saw Ferran overtake his friend and fellow countryman Helio Castroneves to secure the win, making him one of the greatest champions of that category.

Gil de Ferran will not only be remembered for his achievements on the track but also for his class and kindness as a human off the track too. His contribution to motorsport went beyond professional racing, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of drivers.
