Former Formula 1 driver and Sky commentator Nico Rosberg praised Lewis Hamilton’s performance in the Chinese sprint, saying the seven-time world champion drove “as well as ever”. Rosberg highlighted Hamilton’s skills during the race, emphasizing his aggressiveness and vehicle control.

Hamilton from the Mercedes team led the first half of the sprint in Shanghai and looked competitive from the start. He managed to maintain the lead for several laps before being overtaken by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

For Rosberg, Hamilton proved his quality by managing to stay ahead for so long despite pressure from Verstappen. He praised Hamilton’s ability to get the best out of the car and cope with the intensity of the competition.

The former driver also highlighted Mercedes’ improvement compared to previous races, highlighting the team’s progress and Hamilton’s determination to achieve positive results. Rosberg emphasized the importance of Hamilton’s performance for the team and the championship.

Although Hamilton gave up the lead to Verstappen, Rosberg considered the decision strategic and praised the driver’s attitude during the race. He admitted it was difficult to compete with Verstappen but highlighted Hamilton’s determination and ability to secure second place.

After the race, Hamilton was happy with the result and called it his best performance so far in the 2024 season. He praised the Mercedes team’s progress and was optimistic for the coming races.
