1 years ago By Sports Desk

Known for his brilliant performances, Maverick Viñales will enter his tenth MotoGP season in 2024, starting this weekend with the opening race in Qatar. Although he impressed Aprilia in pre-season testing, Viñales is known for alternating exceptional days with less regular periods.

The Spanish veteran, although considered one of the most talented drivers in the category, remains an unknown quantity due to the unpredictability of his results. Seasoned commentator Simon Crafar highlights Viñales’ speed and says he is perhaps the most talented rider in the category, but highlights the uncertainty surrounding his performance.

Last year, Viñales achieved three podium finishes, including at the season opener in Portimão. However, Aprilia team-mate Aleix Espargaro may gain the upper hand this season during the Qatar GP.

Crafar highlights Espargaro’s preference for the Qatar circuit, mentions that the Spaniard is in great form and praises Aprilia’s new 2024 machine. Espargaro expressed the need for a bit more torque and engine power to compete on equal terms. equal to the dominant teams.

Davide Brivio, Trackhouse’s new team boss, also mentions Aprilia as a team to watch in Qatar’s MotoGP. He sees Aprilia as well-placed to challenge KTM as well as Ducati, given the advances made in the bike’s aerodynamics.

Brivio notes that Aprilia has been a benchmark for other teams, indicating that the team’s approach is starting to pay off. He emphasizes the importance of challenging the strongest teams and believes that Aprilia is following the same path as Ducati, although he recognizes the importance of not underestimating other teams such as KTM.

In the 2024 season, which promises fierce competition, fans can expect an exciting clash between the teams, with Viñales and Espargaro leading Aprilia’s success in the highly competitive MotoGP scene.
