Marc Marquez: Prioritizing Podiums Over Victory

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Six-time MotoGP champion Spanish rider Marc Marquez is cautious about his expectations for this weekend’s US Grand Prix. Despite an impressive history of COTA wins, Marquez is now focused on the podium instead of the win.

After an incident in Portimão, which left him out of the points, Marquez constantly prioritizes reaching the podium. He admits that there are currently three or four competitors faster than him, but he is still hoping for a good performance on a track that suits his driving style.

In a recent interview, Marquez expressed his willingness to sign for a podium before even considering the possibility of winning. He emphasized the importance of progressing step by step, admitting that his team, Gresini Ducati, is still adapting to the Desmosedici.

Although he has a long history with COTA, Marquez is aware that the move to Ducati presents new challenges. He recognizes the differences between Honda and Ducati bikes, but is determined to adapt and race at a high level.

The COTA course turns mainly to the left and suits Marquez’s riding style. He attributes his past dominance in Austin to a favorable course configuration that allows him to make the most of his abilities.

However, Marquez’s main goal is to improve his performance in Sunday’s races. After the incident in Portimão, which left him 33 points behind the championship leaders, Marquez is determined to recover and fight for the title.

The American GP is offering Marquez and the Ducati team a chance to redeem themselves after a difficult start to the season. With a proven track record and a team determined to improve, Marquez is up for the challenge and aiming for a podium finish this weekend.

In short: Marc Marquez consistently prioritizes podium finishes over wins at this point. With a step-by-step approach and renewed determination, he is ready to compete at a high level and continue his quest for the MotoGP title.
