Marc Marquez calls for realistic expectations ahead of Sachsenring return

1 years ago By Sports Desk

As the MotoGP season progresses, Marc Marquez, an eight-time world champion, faces one of the biggest challenges of his career. Since his move to Ducati, the Spaniard has yet to reach the top step of the podium, and now, on the eve of the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring, he is calling for caution and realistic expectations.

Sachsenring is a circuit where Marquez has built an enviable legacy, with numerous victories that have cemented his position as one of the greatest riders in MotoGP history. However, times have changed, and the Spaniard acknowledges that past success does not guarantee future performance, especially given the difficulties he has faced with his new bike, the GP23.

In a season dominated by Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia, who have shown superior pace in recent races, Marquez knows he needs a different approach to remain competitive. “The predictions are better than last Thursday in Assen, but what I predict is that if I can have a perfect weekend with the correct steps, then maybe I can have the chance to fight with these two guys,” said Marquez.

The GP23, according to Marquez, has not performed as well as the GP24, the model ridden by Bagnaia, which puts the Spaniard in an even more challenging position. However, he believes that Sachsenring, with its tight corners and technical nature, can help level the playing field. “I will try to give my 100%,” he said, showing determination but also an awareness of the limitations.

The need for perfect riding is something Marquez repeatedly emphasizes. In his own words, “If I want to have the chance, I need to ride perfectly at Sachsenring, like I did in the past.” This recognition clearly shows that Marquez understands the level of competition he is facing and the importance of minimizing mistakes.

Still, despite his history of victories in Germany, Marquez is adopting a realistic stance. He knows that Sachsenring offers an opportunity, but not a guarantee. The Spaniard is focused on adjusting his strategy and adapting to race conditions, rather than getting carried away by unrealistic expectations.

“Let’s see what the weekend has in store for us,” Marquez concluded, maintaining a balanced approach. With the pressure to deliver results and the need to prove himself at Ducati, Marquez enters Sachsenring aware that his experience and ability to adapt will be crucial to any chance of success.

This measured mindset may be exactly what he needs to face the challenges ahead, whether at Sachsenring or in the races still to come this season.
