Leclerc Seeks Improvement to Address Unfamiliar Weakness in F1

Ferrari team driver Charles Leclerc finds himself facing an unexpected challenge in the 2024 Formula 1 season, as revealed by his remarks after the Japanese Grand Prix. Although pleased with the execution of his team’s strategy, Leclerc expressed disappointment with their performance in the qualifying sessions. identifying this as an area in which they need to improve in order to compete more effectively.The Monegasque driver, despite being voted driver of the day, had a disappointing qualifying, finishing only eighth.

He explained that the lack of available grip during his flying lap hurt his chances, putting him at a disadvantage for the race. Although he demonstrated skill in defending his position and maximizing tire strategy during the race, Leclerc admits his performance in qualifying is essential to achieve more consistent results.In his own words, Leclerc emphasized the importance of working on your weaknesses, especially in areas that were previously considered your strengths.

Despite the difficulties encountered in qualifying, Leclerc maintains a cautious optimism about the overall performance of the Ferrari team. He praised the team’s strategy during the Japanese Grand Prix and recognized the efforts to maximize the available points.

However, the Monegasque driver also recognizes the need to improve the performance of the car in relation to the qualifying sessions in order to compete more competitively with teams such as Red Bull, who currently lead the championship.

Leclerc further highlighted the consistent performance of his teammate Carlos Sainz, who achieved his third consecutive podium this season.
