Jorge Martin Claims Ducati Altered Plans to Favor Marquez

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Jorge Martin, MotoGP rider, recently claimed that Ducati altered their original plans to favor the signing of Marc Márquez for the 2025 season. Initially, Martin seemed to be the favorite for the spot, expressing his frustration with Ducati’s unexpected decision. According to him, Ducati was inclined to keep him but changed their minds to avoid losing Márquez to another team.

Martin highlighted his consistent performance throughout the season and his confidence in being chosen as Francesco Bagnaia’s new teammate. However, Ducati’s strategic adjustments to secure the eight-time world champion left Martin disappointed. He lamented the lack of communication and clarity during the selection process, suggesting that the team should have been more transparent about their intentions.

Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse’s general manager, defended the decision, stating that signing Márquez was crucial to strengthening the team and increasing their chances of winning the world championship. He acknowledged Martin’s talent but explained that Márquez’s experience and winning history were decisive factors.

Despite the disappointment, Martin stated he would remain focused and determined to prove his worth on the track, regardless of which team he is part of. He emphasized that internal competition is healthy and motivates all riders to perform at their best.

For MotoGP fans, Márquez’s addition to Ducati promises an exciting season with intense rivalries and fierce competition among some of the world’s best riders. The dynamic between Bagnaia and Márquez will be particularly interesting to watch, given their strong personalities and aggressive racing styles.

Meanwhile, Martin will continue his journey, seeking new opportunities and preparing for upcoming challenges. The 2025 season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and exciting in recent years, with high expectations around the new rider line-ups and team strategies.

In summary, Jorge Martin’s statement highlights the complexity and competitiveness behind the scenes in MotoGP, where strategic decisions can change quickly, and riders must always be ready to adapt and keep fighting for the top.
