Isle of Man TT Qualifying 1: Results

Qualifying for the 2024 Isle of Man TT marked the official start of one of the world’s most exciting and dangerous car races. The best riders on the planet converged on the famous Isle of Man for pure adrenaline and technique on the challenging 37.73-mile mountain course.

Qualification summary

The first qualifying session was held in ideal weather conditions, which gave the racers the opportunity to test their limits and fine-tune their cars for the races ahead. In the session, entries from the Superbike, Superstock, and Supersport classes each provided a dazzling display of speed and skill.

Superbike

A standout in the superbike class was TT veteran John McGuinness, who dominated the track with an impressive time of 17:15.30, setting the best lap of the session. McGuinness cemented his place as one of the main event favorites, displaying an impeccable combination of speed and control. Another big name, Michael Dunlop, was a few seconds second in 17:20.45, with Peter Hickman third in 17:23.10.

Superstock

There were also notable performances in the Superstock session. Dean Harrison led the standings with a consistent and accurate performance of 17:30.55. Connor Cummins finished second with 17:33.20, and James Hillier finished third with 17:35.75.

Supersport

The competition in the supersport category was intense. Lee Johnston showed skillful leadership and strategy, crossing the finish line in 18:00.25 to set the fastest time. Jamie Coward finished second with a time of 18:02.40, and Dominic Herbertson finished third with a time of 18:05.10.

Qualifying 1 results provide an exciting preview of what to expect in the main races.
