Horner Allegedly Offered £650,000 to Resolve Red Bull Sexual Misconduct Inquiry

Recently, allegations of sexual harassment against Red Bull team principal Christian Horner opened a new chapter, with the Briton reportedly offering a large sum of money to settle the investigation. According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Horner and his lawyers have offered a financial settlement of £650,000 to settle the case.

The investigation began in December 2023 after an employee accused Horner of sexual misconduct in text messages sent to Red Bull senior management. In response, the agency commissioned an outside lawyer to conduct an independent investigation into the matter. The Telegraph reports that the party leader was sent sexual messages over a significant period of time.

The Dutch label also claimed that Horner tried to cover up the allegations, and his lawyers are said to be seeking a financial settlement to drop the case. One affected employee is said to have received an offer of £650,000. Formula 1 journalist Erik van Haren, a British lawyer (aged 50) proposed a £650,000 settlement package to journalists.”

Red Bull’s 2024 race car, the RB20, was recently unveiled, but allegations of inappropriate behavior permeated the event. Horner unveiled the new car at the Milton Keynes campus alongside Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and other team members. However, the allegations are still being investigated by the parent company, damaging the reputation of the team boss and Red Bull.

Horner vehemently denied the allegations at a press conference and said he could not provide further details because the investigation was ongoing. “I vehemently deny the allegations against me,” Horner told CNN. “There’s a process that’s been going on and obviously is going on right now.”

The allegations and the revelation of Horner’s alleged financial offer further complicate the situation as Formula 1 prepares for the 2024 season. The impact of these incidents on the team atmosphere and image of Red Bull remains uncertain, highlighting the need for transparent and fair solutions. in this sensitive situation.
