Hamilton Shifts Gears: Racing Star Lewis Hamilton Set to Join Ferrari in 2025

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The Formula One world is set to witness a massive shift when seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is rumored to be leaving Mercedes to join the legendary Ferrari team in 2025. It was speculated that the Spanish pilot’s replacement for Carlos would be a surprising move. Sainz is in the Italian team.

Hamilton, 39, has been with Mercedes since 2013 and won his first title with McLaren in 2008. His current contract expires at the end of next year and a move to Ferrari would extend his stay at Era. The new F1 engine will debut in 2026.

Although Hamilton has remained loyal to Mercedes, he has maintained a close relationship with Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur since their days together at the French ART team. Wasser noted last August that he still speaks to Hamilton regularly on race weekends, highlighting the ongoing relationship between the pair despite their different careers.

Hamilton potentially driving for Ferrari is nothing new, with speculation arising during previous contract negotiations. In 2019, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff admitted he had discussed the possibility with Hamilton, stressing that every driver has a natural desire to drive for Formula 1’s most iconic team.

Hamilton’s potential move to Ferrari comes as Mercedes struggles to keep pace with Red Bull and defending champion Max Verstappen, who has won the past three titles. The 2024 season is about to begin and Verstappen is considered the favorite to win a fourth consecutive title.

If the news is true, Hamilton will make a surprise move to Ferrari, joining Charles Leclerc, who recently committed his future to the Italian team. Hamilton’s potential move comes after McLaren confirmed Lando Norris’ new deal.

For Hamilton, a move to Ferrari could be the pinnacle of his Formula 1 career, a calculated risk in the face of 2026 rule changes that will take everyone into uncharted territory.

With the 2024 F1 season approaching, Hamilton’s potential move to Ferrari would add extra excitement and anticipation to an already exciting race. As Formula 1’s long-awaited ‘Silly Season’ enters another unpredictable chapter, fans and pundits alike will be keeping an eye out for any official announcements in the coming hours.
