Gresini Ducati Confirms Truth Behind Repsol and Marquez’s Sponsors

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Marc Márquez’s move from Repsol Honda to Gresini Ducati will have far-reaching consequences on the track and in terms of sponsorship.

His characteristic brand and recognition make giant companies want to be associated with him wherever he goes; This could be good news for his new team.

Will Repsol leave Honda and direct its support to Gresini?

“No,” Nadia Padovani told Corriere della Sera. “Marc only has personal sponsors.”

Could Gresini benefit from Marquez’s big transfer?

“There is currently a lot of interest and satisfaction from our personal partners and those who want to participate,” Padovani added.

Repsol have agreed to stay with Honda through 2024, marking their 30th year and the final year of their current contract.

However, Red Bull was excluded from Honda’s well-known sponsors. Instead, the energy drink maker will sponsor Tech3 GASGAS motorcycles.

Red Bull continues to be Marquez’s personal sponsor.

Estrella Galicia, a Spanish beer company, is also the personal sponsor of the Marquez brothers.

Marquez, an eight-time world champion, took a significant pay cut in his move from Honda to Gresini, but the power of sponsorship deals could see him earn significant returns this season again.
