Flavio Briatore Eyes F1 Comeback with Alpine, Seeks Adrian Newey Partnership

10 months ago By Sports Desk

Flavio Briatore, one of Formula 1’s most controversial and influential figures, is planning a return to the sport, this time with the Alpine team. Known for his ability to transform teams into champions, Briatore now aims to partner with Adrian Newey, the renowned Red Bull Racing engineer, to propel Alpine to new levels of competitiveness.

## Briatore’s Comeback Strategy

According to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Renault CEO Luca de Meo is interested in bringing Briatore back to the paddock as part of a new strategy for the Alpine team. Briatore would take on a “special supervisor” role, a position that would allow him to influence the team without being directly involved in track operations.

Briatore, who was instrumental in winning world titles with Michael Schumacher at Benetton and Fernando Alonso at Renault, left Formula 1 in 2009 following the “Crashgate” scandal. Since then, he has maintained a sporadic presence in the sport, often seen with F1 promoters.

The Partnership with Adrian Newey

Alpine are planning a major technical recruitment campaign, with Adrian Newey as their main target. Newey, who is stepping away from Red Bull Racing next year, is widely recognised as one of the most brilliant and innovative engineers in Formula 1 history. His arrival at Alpine could be a decisive factor in the team reaching new levels of performance.

According to Corriere della Sera, there are already talks about a temporary agreement with Newey, conditional on the creation of a competitive team by 2026. Newey’s technical expertise, combined with Briatore’s strategic vision, could transform Alpine into a dominant force on the grid.

The Future of Alpine

With the potential arrival of Briatore and Newey, Alpine is preparing for a new era of competitiveness and innovation. Briatore’s experience in leadership and strategy, combined with Newey’s technical genius, can give the team the tools it needs to stand out among its competitors.

This move is part of Renault’s ongoing efforts to revitalise its Formula 1 brand and regain the glory it enjoyed in decades past. Newey’s addition to the coaching team and Briatore’s oversight could be key to Alpine becoming a strong title contender in the coming year.

Flavio Briatore’s return to Formula 1 and the possible signing of Adrian Newey by Alpine are developments that promise to shake up the sport’s scene. The combination of strategic expertise and technical innovation could transform Alpine into a powerhouse in Formula 1. The motorsport community is eagerly awaiting to see if these rumours come to fruition and how they will influence the dynamics of the competition.

If realised, these moves would not only bring back two of F1’s brightest minds but also signal a period of renewal and ambition for Alpine, potentially changing the balance of power on the grid.
