F1 Teams Ranked Based on 2024 Pre-Season Testing

8 months ago By Sports Desk

“The tests ahead of the 2024 season show that the Formula 1 teams are preparing for an exciting season, with Red Bull leading the way. Max Verstappen’s team is ahead of its former rivals, showing consistency and performance.

In-depth analysis by Sky’s Ted Kravitz, the teams were ranked based on their fastest time and overall performance in Bahrain. Surprisingly, despite Haas’ focus on dealing with tire degradation, they continued to struggle with speed issues and finished 10th.

Despite Zhou Guanyu’s third fastest time, Sauber was ninth, with Williams clearly ahead, but fuel strategies make direct comparisons difficult.

With the improved cars, Alpine finished 8th and Williams overtook them in the standings. Meanwhile, Red Bull looks to be ahead of Williams, with Yuki Tsunoda putting in a good performance.

Aston Martin was ahead of Red Bull, but behind McLaren. McLaren has struggled in testing but still feels competitive. The battle between the two teams is expected to be fierce throughout the season.

In third place is Mercedes, which has shown speed but is still adjusting to an unfamiliar car.

The team believes it is behind the field leader Ferrari. Ferrari is in strong form again this season, with Charles Leclerc setting the fastest time on C4 tyres.

In the end, Max Verstappen’s Red Bull took first place. Their exact advantage remains uncertain, estimated at 3-8/10 compared to Ferrari. Taking modified lap times into account, Verstappen was fastest and showed consistency and performance throughout the test.

The 2024 Formula 1 season promises to be exciting, and Red Bull will become the team to beat. The battle between Ferrari, McLaren and other midfield teams promises exciting and unpredictable racing for motorsport fans.”
