In a dramatic qualifying session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Max Verstappen secured pole position amidst changing weather conditions. The Red Bull driver dominated the field, setting a provisional pole time in his first run during Q3 with a lap time of 1 m, 10.727s. However, heavy rain forced officials to red-flag the session, preventing any further improvements, and Verstappen claimed the top spot.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari secured the other spot on the front row, impressively battling changing conditions. Aston Martin, with Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, benefited from sending their drivers out early in Q3, landing them in third and fourth positions, respectively.

The Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell had to settle for fifth and sixth, with Russell continuing to make his mark on the team. Lando Norris, who showed impressive pace in Q2, ended up in seventh place, unable to replicate his earlier performance in the challenging conditions.

Carlos Sainz brought his Ferrari across the line in eighth place, while Sergio Perez of Red Bull and Oscar Piastri of Alpine completed the top 10 qualifiers.
