Ducati WorldSBK Team Enlists Michele Pirro to Assist with Panigale V4 R Development

11 months ago By Sports Desk

After a promising start to the WorldSBK season, the Ducati team has stepped up development efforts to deliver even better results in the upcoming races. For this, they turned to the expertise of Michael Pirro, a well-known name in the world of motorcycle racing.

With Nicolo Bulega securing an impressive victory on his WorldSBK debut and Alvaro Bautista finishing second in Race 2, the team is focused on continuing their performance. The two-day test in Barcelona provided a valuable opportunity for Panigal to fine-tune the V4R and explore new development opportunities.

Ducati Course technical director Marco Zambenedetti explained that the main purpose of the testing is to prepare the team for the next race weekend in Barcelona. However, special attention has also been paid to areas such as power delivery and engine characteristics, especially with new fuel management.

The presence of Michel Pirro in the test team is a significant step, as he has a wealth of experience and technical knowledge with him, especially in the MotoGP category. His experience will be crucial in helping the team understand and improve the dynamics of the Panigal V4R, particularly in relation to power delivery and engine behaviour.

Zambenedetti also highlighted Nicolo Bulega’s impressive performance at Phillip Island in the first round of the season. As the first WorldSSP champion to win a major on his debut, Bulega has proven his talent and adaptability. The focus now is on continuing to support Boulega and ensuring he has the best possible tools to maintain his impressive performances throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista is trying to regain his confidence in the bike and find the ideal balance with the ballast added to the bike. The test in Barcelona is an important opportunity for him to test different configurations and find the perfect fit that will allow him to compete at the highest level.

With the combination of talent, experience and commitment of the Ducati team, as well as the valuable input of Michel Pirro, expectations are higher than ever for the rest of the WorldSBK season. Fans can expect more exciting action on the track as the team works tirelessly to achieve success in each upcoming race.
