Ducati Chief Dall’Igna Comments on Marquez-Bagnaia Clash in Portimao

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Ducati boss Gigi Dall’Igna has expressed his views on the collision between Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia at the Portuguese GP in Portimão. The incident resulted in crashes for both Ducati riders and a pointless race for the Italian team.

Bagnaia attempted to overtake Marquez in a maneuver that sent both of them into the gravel trap, which was later viewed by race officials as a mid-race incident. Commenting on the incident, Dall’Igna expressed regret over the incident, which deprived both drivers of the opportunity to collect crucial championship points.

The Ducati boss was careful in his words and avoided blaming the riders involved in the incident. He acknowledged the complexity of the race and the challenges drivers face during the race. Dall’Igna stressed that any comments other than regretting the incident were unnecessary, indicating a neutral attitude towards the situation.

Despite their disappointment over the incident, Bagnaia and Marquez denied that there was any tension between them following the collision. Both drivers have decided to move on and focus on future races and put the incident behind them.

The Portimão shock is a challenge for Ducati, especially considering it was only the second GP since Marquez joined the team. However, Dall’Igna remains confident that the team can overcome these adversities and continue to compete at a high level.

Aside from the incident in question, Ducati’s weekend in Portimão was up and down. While Bagnaia and Marquez struggled, Bagnaia’s teammate Enea Bastianini took pole position and finished second. The team performed remarkably well, showing their determination and competitiveness in difficult conditions.

As the MotoGP season progresses, Ducati is focused on achieving positive results and consolidating its position in the championship. With a talented and dedicated team led by Dall’Igna, Ducati is ready to face the challenges ahead and continue to compete at the highest level of motorsport.
