Donington Park Ready for Another Treble from Razgatlioglu: “Feeling Stronger”

4 months ago By Sports Desk

Toprak Razgatlioglu, leader of the World Superbike (WorldSBK) championship, is ready for another victorious weekend at Donington Park, where he will be seeking another “treble” (three victories in one weekend). After his impressive performance in Misano, where he won all three races, Razgatlioglu returns to one of his favorite circuits with high expectations and a positive attitude.

“I am very happy to return to Donington because this circuit is my favorite,” said Razgatlioglu. “I am very positive. Last year, I fought a lot with the Ducatis, but this year it is completely different because now I ride the BMW, which is stronger both on the straights and in the corners.”

Although he is not yet 100% adapted to the BMW M 1000 RR, Razgatlioglu noted that he and his team are making progress every race weekend. “The recent wins at Misano showed that I am getting stronger, but now we will see how it will be at Donington. I never say much before the race. I just say it is my favorite circuit, and I will try to do my best again like I did at Misano. I hope we will win again.”

Razgatlioglu’s confidence is reinforced by his intense preparation and dedication. He mentioned that he works hard every day, going to the gym, cycling, and constantly training. “I am fully ready for the race weekend,” he stated.

Razgatlioglu’s teammate, Michael Van Der Mark, also had a strong start in 2024 and, most importantly, avoided injuries unlike the last two seasons. Van Der Mark, who is expected to stay with the factory BMW team, also has high hopes for this weekend.

“It is always nice to go back to Donington. It is a track where I have many good memories, and it is a shame I have not been there in the last few years, so I am looking forward to getting back,” said Van Der Mark. “I think, as we showed in the previous round, that the bike is very good and that we are ready to fight for the top positions again.”

Van Der Mark highlighted the importance of everything falling into place over the weekend so he can show his true potential. “I hope that this weekend everything falls into place on my side because we have been showing pace but have not been lucky in the last few rounds. I am very motivated and confident to do very well at Donington Park during the home round of the team,” he concluded.

With the determination of Razgatlioglu and Van Der Mark, the BMW team is optimistic about their chances at Donington Park. Expectations are high, and fans are eager to see if Razgatlioglu can repeat the success of Misano and achieve another treble at one of his favorite tracks.
