With a promising start to the Moto2 season, could Joe Roberts join the Aprilia MotoGP Trackhouse in 2025?

American Racing Moto2 rider Joe Roberts continued his good form in the opening race of the Moto2 season. The performance begs the question: could it open the door to a possible move to the Aprilia MotoGP Trackhouse in 2025?

At the Trackhouse team presentation in January, former MotoGP rider John Hopkins said the American team should not look to Joe Roberts for a future MotoGP star. With Roberts consistently finishing second in the early stages of the Moto2 season, and current Trackhouse riders Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez out of contract at the end of this season, the possibility of Roberts moving to MotoGP is an interesting one.

Although Roberts was offered a seat in Aprilia MotoGP for 2021, he decided to continue in Moto2, feeling that he did not yet have enough experience to earn a place in the top category. Since then, however, Roberts has shown tremendous growth in his career with consistent results and impressive performances.

At the age of 26, Roberts is determined to prove himself and succeed at the highest level of motor racing. His strong and consistent performance in Moto2 this season has certainly caught the attention of MotoGP teams, including Aprilia Trackhouse.

But for Roberts, his focus is on Moto2 and his ambition to win the category title. He recognizes the importance of staying focused and not being swayed by speculation about his future in MotoGP. Roberts emphasized that he is fully committed to his current team and is focused on getting good results this season.

Meanwhile, the Aprilia MotoGP Trackhouse will keep a close eye on Roberts’ performance in Moto2 and determine whether he will be a valuable addition to their team for the 2025 season. Given the possibility of a spot on the team next year, Roberts could be gone. head. With a unique opportunity to realize his dream of participating in MotoGP.

As the Moto2 season progresses and talks begin for another MotoGP season, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Joe Roberts. One thing is for sure: his impressive performance in Moto2 has definitely put him on the radar of MotoGP teams and a move to the Aprilia MotoGP Trackhouse in 2025 is not impossible.
