As the sun sets on the Lusail Circuit, the stage is set for an electrifying showdown at the F1 Qatar Grand Prix 2023. Formula 1 fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting Sunday’s main race, where the world’s top teams and drivers will battle it out for supremacy. With qualifying complete and grid positions determined, it’s time to unveil the teams’ positions and rankings for the much-anticipated race day.

1. Red Bull Racing: Max Verstappen

Leading the charge is Red Bull Racing, with their star driver Max Verstappen securing pole position. Verstappen’s blistering lap time of 1:23.778 in Q3 on Friday showcased his prowess, and he’s now in prime position to further solidify his claim to a third consecutive F1 drivers’ title.

2. Mercedes: George Russell and Lewis All Hamilton

Mercedes, a perennial powerhouse in Formula 1, will be starting Sunday’s race with a strong presence. George Russell, the young prodigy who joined the team, secured an impressive second place on the grid. Russell has shown his mettle throughout the season, and this qualifying performance is yet another feather in his cap.

However, it’s worth noting that Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, faced a bit of a shuffle due to grid penalties. Initially securing P4, Hamilton will launch his race from the third spot on the grid. The Mercedes duo is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.

3. Aston Martin Racing: Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll

Aston Martin Racing, with their experienced driver Fernando Alonso, sits in a promising position at the beginning of Sunday’s race, securing fourth place on the grid. Alonso’s years of Formula 1 expertise make him a formidable contender.

His teammate, Lance Stroll, however, faced a frustrating outcome during qualifying. Stroll failed to progress beyond the initial Q1 session, starting from the 17th spot. The team will be looking for a strong recovery on race day.

4. Ferrari: Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz

Ferrari, one of the most iconic names in motorsport, also holds a significant presence on the grid. Charles Leclerc secured fifth place, showcasing the Scuderia’s competitive edge. Alongside him is Carlos Sainz, who had an eventful Q2 session. Sainz starts from the 12th spot on the grid, aiming for a strong race-day performance.

5. McLaren: Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris

McLaren’s young rookie, Oscar Piastri, initially clinched an impressive third position for Sunday’s main race. However, a grid penalty pushed him down to sixth place. Piastri’s reaction in his post-race interview, unaware of the penalty, added a touch of drama to the proceedings.

His teammate, Lando Norris, initially secured a stellar second place in qualifying. Still, a lap time deletion for exceeding track limits dropped him to 10th place on the grid. The McLaren duo will be seeking redemption on race day.

6. Alpine: Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon

Alpine, with Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, holds a solid presence on the grid. Gasly secured seventh place, while Ocon starts from the eighth spot. Their combined efforts could lead to a strong showing for the team on Sunday.

7. Alfa Romeo: Valterri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu

Alfa Romeo, with Valterri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, is poised for a midfield battle. Bottas, the experienced campaigner, will start in ninth place, while Zhou Guanyu rounds off the grid in 20th place.

8. AlphaTauri: Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson

AlphaTauri, with Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, faces a mixed grid situation. Tsunoda starts from the 11th spot, and Lawson is positioned at the 18th. The team will be eager to capitalize on opportunities during the race.

9. Williams: Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant

Williams, along with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, has a challenging task ahead. Albon secured the 14th spot, while Sargeant starts from the 16th. The team will look to make progress through strategic racing.

10. Haas F1 Team: Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen

The Haas F1 team, with Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, faces a tough grid situation. Hulkenberg starts in 15th place, while Magnussen launches in 19th place. The team will aim to make the most of their race strategy.
