Pedrosa Amazed by Pro Biker’s Performance on KTM MotoGP Bike

4 months ago By Sports Desk

Dani Pedrosa, former MotoGP rider and current KTM ambassador, was impressed with Fabio Wibmer’s performance when he tested a MotoGP bike at the Red Bull Ring. Wibmer, known for his exceptional skills in trials biking and impressive stunts, had the opportunity to ride the powerful KTM MotoGP, and the result left Pedrosa enthusiastic.

Wibmer, an Austrian cyclist with extensive motocross experience, was initially introduced to racing bikes through smaller models. He began his journey with KTM on a MiniGP bike, where he showcased notable skills in stoppies and wheelies. The progression continued with the KTM RC8 and then a Moto2 bike, before finally experiencing the MotoGP machine.

The highlight came when Wibmer received instructions from Dani Pedrosa on how to handle the 2023 KTM MotoGP bike. Pedrosa was visibly impressed with Wibmer’s quick adaptation and ability to master the high-power machine. “It was perfect. I’m impressed,” Pedrosa commented on Wibmer’s performance.

Wibmer expressed his excitement after the test, highlighting the monumental difference in power between the MotoGP bike and his trials bikes. “I feel like I could just go out and race. The power is insane!” he said, visibly thrilled with the experience. Wibmer also noted that although MotoGP bikes and trials bikes are very different, there are similarities in terms of control and handling.

Despite his impressive skills, Wibmer acknowledged that he was far from achieving the lean angles of professional MotoGP riders. “The most fascinating aspect is the way you can lean into corners and discover what angles are possible,” Wibmer reflected. He was aware that his performance was still distant from professional standards but felt he was reaching the limit in some corners.

Pedrosa and the KTM team were excited about the test results, which not only highlighted Wibmer’s skills but also demonstrated the adaptability of riders from different disciplines. Wibmer’s experience with the KTM MotoGP provided insight into the potential of unconventional riders and reaffirmed the excellence of the bike developed by KTM.

Wibmer’s test is an exciting demonstration of how riding skills can transcend different disciplines and how KTM continues to explore new frontiers in motorcycle racing.
