Haas and Ferrari extend technical partnership until 2028

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The Haas team recently announced the extension of its technical partnership with Ferrari until the end of the 2028 Formula 1 season. Since entering the category in 2016, Haas has benefited from Ferrari’s technical support and engines, a collaboration that now extends for an additional four years beyond the original contract.

This extension marks a significant milestone for both teams, consolidating a relationship that has been crucial for Haas’s growth and stability in the competitive world of Formula 1. Ayao Komatsu, Haas team principal, expressed satisfaction with the continuity of the partnership, emphasizing Ferrari’s importance not only as an engine supplier but also as an essential technical partner.

“Over the years, Ferrari has been not only our engine supplier but also a vital pillar of technical support. This contract extension reflects Scuderia Ferrari’s continued confidence in our project and our determination to reach new heights in Formula 1,” commented Komatsu.

Haas, currently seventh in the constructors’ championship, has shown signs of improvement during the 2024 season. The recent upgrades at the British Grand Prix, where Nico Hulkenberg qualified ahead of both Ferrari cars, demonstrated the fruits of the ongoing technical collaboration between the two teams.

Since the beginning of its journey in Formula 1, Haas has utilized Ferrari’s facilities in Maranello and benefited from the technical know-how of the legendary Italian team. This partnership not only strengthens Haas’s position on the grid but also underscores its commitment to long-term excellence and competitiveness.

For next year, Haas has already confirmed Oliver Bearman, a Ferrari junior driver, in its lineup, while the second seat remains open, with Esteban Ocon strongly rumored to fill it, according to recent reports.

With the extension of the technical partnership with Ferrari until 2028, Haas strategically positions itself to continue its ascent in Formula 1, leveraging fully the expertise and technology of Scuderia Ferrari on its path to success in the most prestigious motorsport in the world.
