Brad Binder’s Scooter Adventures at the 2024 French MotoGP

1 years ago By Sports Desk

South African rider Brad Binder had a challenging day during the first day of action for the French MotoGP Grand Prix at Le Mans. With three crashes on the day, Binder found himself in a challenging position as he prepared for Qualifier 1 on Saturday.

The day started with a crash at Turn 11 during the morning session as Binder tried to improve his position. However, his struggles continued into the afternoon when he suffered two more crashes at Turn 13. Despite the setbacks, Binder remained in good spirits, joking, “I spent a lot of time on the back of the scooters today.”

Binder explained that although he feels fast and confident on his bike, he needs to make adjustments to his riding as all three accidents happened in a similar fashion. He emphasized that he entered the penultimate corner later than his teammates, which may have contributed to the incidents.

While Binder struggled, teammate Jack Miller performed more consistently and secured his place in Qualifier 2 with a competitive sixth place. Miller praised his bike’s performance and stressed the importance of securing an outright place in Qualifying 2 at a technical circuit like Le Mans.

Additionally, rookie Pedro Acosta impressed by being the best RC16 driver, finishing third. His promising performance shows great potential for the rest of the race weekend.

For Binder and his team, the focus is now on learning from the first day’s setbacks and making the necessary adjustments to compete in better conditions on Saturday and Sunday. With the team’s determination and support, Binder aims to regain his competitive pace and look for good results at Le Mans.

As preparations continue for the rest of the race weekend, MotoGP fans are eagerly waiting to see how Binder and the other riders will face the challenges of the Le Mans circuit. With the expected twists and turns, the French Grand Prix promises to be an exciting and unpredictable race.
