Ducati Confirms 2025 Line-Up with Fermin Aldeguer Joining MotoGP Team

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Ducati has officially confirmed its plans for the 2025 season, revealing that Fermin Aldeguer will join the Pramac team after joining MotoGP. The Moto2 great has signed a long-term deal with Ducati and will make the jump to the premier category in 2025.

Ducati’s new sports director, Mauro Grassili, has confirmed the decision to place Aldeger in Pramac’s team. He explained that there is a Pramac option to guarantee Aldeguer two years with the team if they decide to do so.

However, Aldeguer suggested that the decision could be reviewed based on his performance in Moto2 this season. He thanked Ducati for the support and emphasized his dream to race in MotoGP with the Italian team.

Aldeguer’s promotion to MotoGP follows a similar pattern to that of Pedro Acosta, who has already impressed as a rookie for KTM’s sister project Tech3 GASGAS. Ducati’s choice to place Aldeguer at Pramac, where he will ride a 2025 Desmosedici, adds a layer of intrigue to the market on the horizon.

Currently, Jorge Martin and Franco Morbidelli form the Pramac duo. However, Martin, last year’s MotoGP runner-up, insists he will leave Ducati if he is not promoted to the factory team in 2025. Therefore, despite Ducati’s choice, Martin is unlikely to stay at Pramac beyond this season, which which in theory creates a logical situation. A place to arrive for Aldeguerre.
