Hamilton’s Sentiments Surface at Mercedes W15 Unveiling; Ferrari Issues Discussed – F1 Update

1 years ago By Sports Desk

Legendary Mercedes-Benz driver Lewis Hamilton showed plenty of emotion as he unveiled the Mercedes W15, marking his final season with the team before his historic move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

The launch of the W15 comes less than two weeks after Hamilton announced his retirement from Mercedes at the end of 2024. It brings to an end a hugely successful partnership that has brought the British rider six world titles.

Hamilton described the experience as “emotional and very surreal”, marking his 11th year with the team and the start of his 12th. He expressed his pride in watching the car build over the winter and emphasized his excitement at seeing the W15 for the first time, knowing that he and George Russell would face technical problems along the way.

However, this uncertain season for Hamilton has been marked by a duality of emotions as he prepares to fight for Mercedes but also knows he will soon be moving to Ferrari. He faces the extraordinary challenge of staying focused and contributing to the team’s return to the top, even as his journey with Mercedes comes to an end.

On the current state of Mercedes and his goals for the season, Hamilton said: “The focus in winter training is to get the team back to where we were before. We’ve had these two tough years, which I think have been really positive.

While the focus is on Hamilton and his final season at Mercedes, talk of his move to Ferrari is also in the spotlight. The 39-year-old expressed his feelings about the challenge ahead in Maranello, highlighting the excitement and difficulty associated with this huge change.

With the 2025 F1 season full of exciting twists and turns, Hamilton’s decision to team up with Ferrari adds another element to the competition. Fans are excited to see how the British driver adapts to the Scuderia environment and how it affects the balance of power in the category.

Hamilton’s saga, which began at McLaren in 2013 and culminated at Mercedes, now enters a new phase with the legendary Italian team. As Formula 1 prepares for a season of significant change, Hamilton’s legacy and impact on the competition will continue to be an important topic of discussion.
