Reigning F1 champion team, the Austrian Red Bull Racing, is lacking a contingency plan when it comes to the engine manufacturing of their cars. The team, which had contract with Japanese automobile giant Honda that lasts until 2026, will have to fend for themselves onwards the 2026 season as they have not contracted with someone for their engine supply.

The Red Bull Team earlier ,was on a joint ownership from Honda and the Austrian Sports Beverage company Red Bull Gmbh until 2021. After that Honda remained only as a supplier.

And everybody knows that Honda’s engines are one of the very best in the market. They became the best there is for the 3 consecutive season where Red Bull and Max Verstappen own 3 consecutive championships, from 2021-23.

But, the question now looming is how it is gonna payout when Honda will leave after 2026?? Can Red Bull be okay on their own when it comes to making their own engines? Or will they lose their superiority in the process of fending off on their own.

According to Helmut Marko, Red Bull team’s senior advisor, that this fending off on their own has to work out for them. He said, it’s until 2026, so they have got a lot of time to make it work out. But before that Honda has to keep delivering to their potential.

Mercedes Warned Against Victim Mentality –

Now, Mercedes on the other hand, after 3 very unfortunate and unsuccessful seasons, really wants to bounce back in 2024. On thar James Allison commented that-

“Well, all right, we’re going to work on this and we’re going to come back and we’re going to show them,” he continued, sucking up the hostility.

“As long as it stays positive and doesn’t develop into a victim complex, that is definitely a motivating thing. It’s more like the happy application of the skill in this place to come out and surprise people.”
