Lewis Hamilton’s Potential “Plan B” for 8th World Title Revealed by Former Driver

2 years ago By Sports Desk

Former British F1 driver Martin Brundle has given hints on Lewis Hamilton opting for a ‘PlanB’ if his much-cherished 8th F1 world championship title remains unreachable.

The 38-year-old Hamilton, arguably one of the best F1 drivers ever and, according to some, the greatest ever, is almost reaching the business end of his career.

Although an 8th title seemed obvious in Hamilton’s grasp two years ago with Mercedes, a lot has changed since then.
His best chance to grab that 8th championship title was in 2021, when everything indicated that Hamilton was surely going to win. Poor management caused him to lose the last race in Bahrain to Max Verstappen, who was closely behind Hamilton in the rankings, and as a result, Hamilton lost the championship to him.

After that, 2022 went downhill for Lewis and Mercedes with average performances, whereas on the other hand, Max Verstappen and Red Bull dominated and won the championship.

Then came 2023, the worst of them all, where both Mercedes and Lewis became winless for the whole of the season, signifying their worst performance ever. For Hamilton, this was also the second winless season for him. 2023 was so fiercely dominated by Red Bull and Max Verstappen that only Ferrari managed a single win in all 22 races other than Red Bull.

As Red Bull’s performances are rising season by season, Mercedes’ are degrading day by day. Their cars are not able to compete with the RB19 in any aspect.

So, as the ageing Hamilton’s chance of getting that much-cherished 8th title is going away day by ay, Martin Brundle suggests he may be as sure as hell looking for a ‘Plan B’.

But he hasn’t made sure what that ‘Plan B’ exactly is, but most likely it will be moving to some other fa, etc. of the Motorsports world, such as 24 Hours Le Mans, INDYCAR, or something. But whatever Lewis is thinking, only time will tell, that’s for sure.
