Historic F1 Race ‘Italian Grand Prix” On The Brink Of Elimination with Stern Warning

1 years ago By Sports Desk

The Historical Italian Grand Prix is one of the oldest Grand Prix and celebrity attractions in the F1 calendar. Inaugurated in 1921, the Italian GP has been regular in the F1 calendar since 1950.

But recently, the Italian GP’s place in the F1 calendar has become a hot topic, with many people asking for it to be excluded from the schedule because of its poor infrastructure.

A few days ago, F1 group CEO Stefano Domenicali gave a stern warning to the organisers of the Italian GP, saying the
race has to keep up with the time if it wants to remain on the calendar.

Stefano Domenicali has revealed that the Italian authorities are yet to meet the demands of F1 with the construction.
Track resurfacing and the building of a new underpass, especially after the construction works that are set to start in November, are delayed.

Speaking with radio station Rai, he said, “I am in good contact with the motorsport federation in Italy. We are negotiating, but we need elements to carry this negotiation forward.
“The work at Monza was supposed to start after the grand prix and still hasn’t started in December. It should now start shortly.”

He further stated, “My push is constructive; we must keep pace with the times.
“It’s all about understanding the desire to invest in Formula 1 as a racing platform. Entertainment and business can no longer be done on a private level. It is our country that must make a precise choice.”

Although the 2023 race was cancelled due to floods in Italy,
The Italian GP is set to remain on the calendar until 2025 after a one-year contract extension. Italy is the birthplace of the major racing teams and legendary drivers like Ferrari, Giuseppe Farina, etc. And a race in Italy in a F1 calendar year will be a disrespect to this stunning country.
