F1 Team Manager Fred Vasseur Voices Concerns Over Red Bull-AlphaTauri Alliance
Another F1 team has voiced concerns Over the Red Bull-AlphaTauri Alliance. This comes after strong protests from others teams and an open letter from McLaren principal Zak Brown.
Ferrari Team Manager Fred Vasseur has recently raised his concerns regarding the alliance between two sister teams, Red Bull and Alpha Tauri.
Starting in 2024, the AlphaTauri will be more heavily reliant on the senior team than ever. AlphaTauri is set to increase the parts it takes from the senior Red Bull team going into 2024 under the new CEO Peter Bayer and new Team Principle Laurent Mekies.
People like Helmut Marko stated a few months earlier that the AlphaTauri team will be much less independent next year and that the two teams will take help from each other as much as possible. and since then, many teams have raised their voices regarding the closeness and ownership of the two teams.
Talking about his concern The Ferrari team manager said
“I think we have to police what the teams are doing with their junior teams, which maybe isn’t the right word,” Vasseur said at a Ferrari media lunch last week.
“For me, it is not the right way because, for me, Toro Rosso, AlphaTauri, or Minardi, I don’t know what the next one is! It’s true that what they are doing together [with Red Bull] is a strange situation with two teams owned by the same company.
“But the FIA has been able to manage it so far, and I am sure they will be able to in the future.”
This is not the first time that an F1 team has raised concerns about the two sister teams. A few days ago, MMcLaren’s CEO, Zak Brown, sent an open letter to every team asking for banning one of the two teams for their close ties and same ownership.
